A Court of Thorns and Roses - Book Rant

So, I just finished reading "A Court of Thorns and Roses" by Sarah J Maas and I am very grateful that a fellow reader recommended this book to me because I had been switching lethargically between 3 to 4 books, none of them holding my attention or interest for a long enough time. This was bothering me really bad since reading has always been something that has allowed me to get lost in a world that might not be my own but at the same time find myself in a realm that always manages to bring me closer to the person I truly am and want to be deep down. Not feeling the passion for reading anymore was honestly just sad.

Thus, I talked to this fellow avid reader about any book that would get me excited and keep me hooked till the end, anticipating with nervousness and excitement alike about the next step in the plot and I believe "A Court of Thorns and Roses" did that for me. Being an 18 year old, supposedly an avid reader in others' eyes, I am told a lot of times, especially now that I am an adult that I should start reading "better" writing and it bothers me. Because a lot of times this very "better" writing leaves me feeling disconnected and lonely, a far cry from when I just choose books based on my instinct and based on what I feel like reading than what I "ought to" be reading.

Thank you for reading my rant / thoughts about the book even though there wasn't much about the book here and it was more about my process of getting out of my sad, lonely hole that didn't have books for a while now in it. I am grateful for this space and the people in it :))
